I just discovered that Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban has an on-line book entitled Leadership by Example (sub-titled The Davide Standard). I reckon from the chapter headings (especially ch. 6, “The Death Penalty Law: The Debate Continues” and ch. 7, “Warrantless Arrests and Seizures Revisited”) that it’s bound to be an interesting read.

Brief and Fundamental Principles
A favorite book of mine is Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations. In Book 4, Sec. 3 of the book he says, “Let your principles be brief and fundamental.” In Book 3, he says, “[S]o do thou have principles ready for the understanding of things divine and human, and for doing everything, even the smallest…” I find his […]

Sorry!
So sorry for having abandoned this blog for almost a couple of months. I simply lost interest in it. I also got sucked into a whirlpool of work, including teaching a summer course in constitutional law and working for a new client (a foreign firm) that really excited me because it presented new challenges and […]

Early Church Fathers
I never thought I would find the man who would be able to read the 38-volume set of The Early Church Fathers from cover to cover. Yes, you read it right – 38 volumes, 2 columns per page, small print! Those of you who have seen the set know what I’m talking about. I have […]

I’m Rich!
I was at Robinson’s last night during its midnight sale and when I went inside BookSale my heart leaped when I found out that new (second hand) books had arrived. So I went into action getting this, then that, and finally settled on the books listed below. I’m rich – in books! “Wisdom is supreme; […]
